Smoothie Bowl

Smoothie in a bowl? But why? The action of chewing actually makes us feel fuller. Have you ever noticed how after drinking a smoothie you might crave something crunchy? Or maybe you feel hungry just an hour later? A smoothie bowl is the perfect way to get all the health benefits of a smoothie, but with an additional crunch to help you feel satisfied.

Ingredients

1 cup frozen mixed berries

1 frozen banana, sliced

2-3 tablespoons of almond milk

1 scoop plain or vanilla protein powder of choice

Toppings

1 tablespoon shredded unsweetened coconut

1 tablespoon chia seeds

1 tablespoon hemp seeds

Granola (optional)

Fruit (optional)

Instructions

  1. Add frozen berries and banana to a blender and blend on low until small bits remain.
  2. Add a bit of almond milk and protein powder, and blend on low again, scraping down the sides as needed, until the mixture reaches a soft serve consistency.
  3. Scoop into a serving bowl and top with desired toppings.
