Oatmeal Crème Brulee
Ingredients
2 ¼ cups oatmeal
3 egg whites
1/3 cup raw cane sugar
¼ tsp. salt
3 1/3 cup non-fat milk
2 tsp. vanilla extract
Dash of cinnamon
1 TBSP. brown sugar
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350
degrees F.
- Line
a baking dish (9×12 or 8×11) with parchment paper or use cooking spray.
- Combine
milk, eggs, and vanilla in a large bowl and mix well.
- Add
oats, sugar, cinnamon, and salt, mix well.
- Pour
into your baking dish and spread evenly.
- Bake
40 to 45 minutes or until center is jiggly, but not runny. Edges should be lightly browned and may
slightly pull away from the dish.
- Sprinkle
brown sugar evenly over the top.
- Return
to oven and bake until sugar is melted.
- Turn
oven to broil and heat until the sugar bubbles and browns slightly (about 1-2
minutes).
- Allow to cool slightly,
and then cut into 8 servings.
Tip: Use more brown sugar
on top if you want a sweeter dish or a more solid crust. Good with fat free yogurt and/or fresh
fruit. Can be eaten hot or cold.
