Serves 8-10
Ingredients
1 cup split peas
½ cup dried baby lima beans
¼ cup barley
8 cups chicken stock
1 yellow onion, diced
2 bay leaves
1 tsp. celery seed
2 carrots, sliced lengthwise
2 potatoes, peeled and cubed
2 celery stalks, diced
2 TBSP. dried parsley
1 tsp. dried basil
1 tsp. paprika
1/8 tsp. white pepper
Ground black pepper to taste
Directions
1. Combine peas, lima beans, barley and stock in a large pot.
2. Reduce heat and add bay leaves, celery seed.
3. Cover and cook over low heat for one hour.
4. Add remaining ingredients and allow to simmer for 45-60 minutes.
