“It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.” Confucius
Weight loss can feel overwhelming. Following the 10 Basic Principles exactly is not always possible. If you have not been adhering to them as strictly as you would like, I suggest that rather than striving for perfection, you focus on one thing at a time.
If you are feeling overwhelmed, I urge you to take a few minutes to think about what one change you can make that will have a large impact. Perhaps you have not been taking your lunch and snacks to work with you so you want to start doing that again. Or perhaps you have not been planning out your meals and snacks ahead of time. Or you want to exercise more regularly. Or maybe you have always wanted to make the time for tracking your food. (Click here to read the blog post called “How Using a Food Blog Can Help You Lose Weight”). Choose one thing to work on for a while. As that becomes more of a habit, choose another thing to work on. Before you know it, you will be back on track with all of the Basic Principles.
As the above quote implies, keep moving forward even if you are feeling like you are going slowly. Just be sure to not stop. Keep figuring out how you can continue to work on developing the healthier habits that are essential for living a healthier life. You will likely have some setbacks on occasion, but try and think creatively about how to manage these setbacks and what changes you can make so you can be more successful. Keep prioritizing your health and keep moving forward!
